Last date entered 1913. Document written with quill or some type of fountain pen. Looks to be child's penmanship-very neat. Agrees about 90% with Hine-Hitchcock Bible written by Mary Hine Carter.

Natl Genealogical Society Quarterly, "Hine (Aaron)-Hitchcock Bible Record (CT & OH)", V20 #2-March 1932, pp. 8-11. (Natl Genealogical Society, Washington, DC) CONT Text: The Bible was the property of Mrs. Mary Hine Carter, wife of Elbert Victor Carter, Major in US Army, Civil War, who resided at Elkader, IA (published in 1851) and is owned by Mrs. Bonar Bell, Washington D.C. This record is of especial value as it corrects the Hitchcok Genealogy, Matthias and Luke, p. 74, where Bethiah Hitchcock is recorded as having married "Aaron King." It should read Aaron Hine. CONT Timothy Hitchock served as a private in the Rev. War and was father of the Bethiah Hitchcock mentioned in this Bible record, and he was a descendant of Matthias Hitchcock, New Haven Conn. 1639, Founder and Signer of the Fundamental Agreement of the New Haven Colony, 1639. The line of David Coe (see Marriages ) is a Rev. War line, etc. and the Caleb Carlton goes back to Edward of Rowley, Mass (DFPA). I have the Burton family line in the handwriting of of Mary Hine Carter whose husband, Major Carter came from the Burton Family. C.C.P.B. Washington DC Feb 28, 1930. (article certified by Notary Public who certified the copy from original Bible.) CONT CONT Bible is written by Mary HIne Carter.
