Biography
Elizabeth was born in 1730. She passed away in 1800. [1]
16 Dec 1759, Sussex Co., VA - The will of William Hines names his daughter, Elizabeth Sorrow. The will also names his son in law Lazarus Drake, but doesn't name his wife. [2] A 1747 Sussex Co., VA, deed, identifies Lazarus Drake's wife as Sarah and shows that she is the daughter of William Hines. Sarah (Hines) Drake and Elizabeth (Hines) Sorrow are two separate people.
- Surry Co., VA, DB 5, p. 57, 21 Jul 1747: “William Hines of Albemarle Parish to his daughter, Sarah Drake the wife of Lazarus Drake, for Love and Affection. 100 acres in Albemarle Parish on south side of Atchamoosock Swamp and bounded by James Ren, John Hines, William Hines, Benjamin Clements, Richard Parker. Wit: Gilbert Hay, Thomas Sowersby. Rec. 21 Jul 1747.” [3]
