Sarah's two minor children, William Felts and Susan Felts by Frederick Felts their next friend, were included in the 1808 distribution of the estate of William Hines as "representatives of Sarah Felts their mother who was also a daughter of the decedent.” [1] When William's widow, Susanna, died a few years later, her dower land and slaves were divided into four portions. Again, the children William and Susanna (here named as William H. Felts and Susanna R. Felts) were representatives of their “mother Sally Felts late Sally Hines.” [2]

There were two contemporaries named William Hines in Southampton County, Virginia. One was often called "the sheriff" and the other was called "son of John." William the sheriff married Martha Blow. He died in 1815. William son of John married Susanna, possibly Rosser. He died in 1807. Settlement of the estate of William son of John makes it clear Sarah Hines Felts was his daughter. I will add sources and make this change to her parents.
