A. B. Hinkle, died at the city hospital at Garrett, Indiana, Saturday morning at 5:30 o'clock from paralysis of the bowels. He had gone to the hospital form his home at Walkerton about three weeks ago suffering from pleurisy of the diaphragm, which later developed into pneumonia. he had apparently passed the critical stage of this ailment when he suffered paralysis of the bowels and took to the bed again on last Thursday.

The funeral was held at his home in Walkerton, after which the body was shipped to Cutler, Indiana on the noon train Tuesday and taken to Ball Hill where a short service was held at 2 o'clock by Reverend J.K. Bliss of the Presbyterian Church. The ceremony at the cemetery was in charge of the I.O.O.F. Lodge.

Mr. Hinkle had been a member of the M.E. Church since boyhood, having united with the Ball Hill Church. He had also been a Mason and Odd Fellow for many years.

Anderson Benton Hinkle, was a son of Joseph and Nancy Hinkle, pioneers of Democrat Township and was born there May 1, 1861. He grew to manhood there. He was married to Mary Gray in 1881.

In the early nineties he moved to Flora, Indiana, where he held the position of section foreman for several years, going from here to Plymouth, where he lived for several years. in 1903 he moved to Garrett, Indiana where at both cities he held a position of foreman. in 1909 he accepted a position with the C & O, as superintendent of the division from Walkerton to Chicago and moved to Walkerton where he had resided. Mr. Hinkle was a model upright citizen, who made friends and held them. His unexpected death was a blow to many friends in Flora.

He is survived by the widow and two daughters: Mrs. H.B. Hays of Albany, New York; and Margaret at home. A son died while the family lived in Flora about 20 years ago.
