Biography
CENSUS:
William Hinkle (1840, Tn) is unfindable in 1860, 1870, and in 1880. There is a school teacher named William Hinkle in Hardin Co. from 1870 onward, but he consistently says that he was born in Kentucky, and his age is also wrong. In 1900 he says he was born in October 1844. He is the W. F. Hinkle who married Martha (probably White) in December 1867.
I conclude that Jonathan's son William probably died before 1860. See, however, the profile of his father Jonathan Hinkle.
