Biography
Irena Hinkle was born April 10, 1841. She was the daughter of Levi Monroe Hinkle and Matilda Ann Dempsey.
Irena married Columbus G. Cotner on February 27, 1892, in Cape Girardeau County, MIssouri.
The 1880 U.S. Census for Oak Ridge, Cape Girardeau County, Missouri, finds the following family: Columbus Cotner, head, age 40, born MO, parents born in NC, married, white; Irena Cotner, wife, age 39, born MO; Emry Cotner, son, age 9, born MO; Carl G. Cotner, son, age 7, born MO; Isy Cotner, daughter, age 2, born MO; Cora B. Cotner, boarder, age 14, born MO.
On December 15, 1881, Irena gave birth to a daughter, Ana, who lived only three days.
On December 14, 1844, Irena gave birth to another daughter in Oak Ridge, Missouri. The father is listed as Columbus G. Cotner, age 44; the mother is listed as Irena Hinkle Cotner, age 43.
Irena Hinkle Cotner died on May 10, 1909.
