Biography

Michael married the first time to Rebecca Spurgeon, they had six children. Second marriage was November 26,1787. to Sarah Beecham, no children. Some of the children there is not much information on, Jennet Hinkle was first daughter and was a minor orphan of Michael Sr. Born December 1777.On August 5, 1791 court records in Rowan County Jennett Spurgin was appointed guardian she was Micheal Hinkle first mother-in-law. William Hinkle, was eldest son, born December 9 1773. first on list of heirs of Michael Hinkle Sr. William was married to Eleanor Hunter on December 11,1793 in Rowan County, North Carolina. Jacob Hinkle probably a older son as he was not listed as one of the minor children and was last on the list of heirs of Michael Hinkle Sr. in 1797.

Michael Hinkle is in the Henckle Genealogy Book in the third generation page 895.

On February 4, 1790 [1]:

Administration on the Estate of Michael Hinkle deceased; issued to Benjamin Hinkle and Willm. Crouse who gave Bond with John March and John Hendricks in the sum of £200.

On August 5, 1791 [2]:

Jennet Spurgin is appointed Guardian, of Jennet Hinkle, Michael Hinkle, Anthony Hinkle and John Hinkle Minor Orphans of Michael Hinkle deceased gave separate bonds with approved Security each bond in the sum of £200,,0,,0.

On November 8, 1791 [3]:

Ordered that Benjamin Hinkle & William Crouse deliver into the possession of Jennet Spurgin all the Orphans of Michael Hinkle deceased, of whom the said Jennet is appointed Guardian in this they said Benjamin & William shall not fall under the Penalty of an Attachment for contempt.
