Ira Wheeler Hinkley, son of Wheeler Hinkley and Ruth E. (Cannon) Hinkley, was born on 13 Dec. 1879 in Fremont Center, Delaware County, New York. He was a laborer at a chemical works when he appeared on the census of 29 June 1900 in the home of his parents at Colchester, Delaware County, New York.
He married Olive M. Signor, daughter of Elliott Sebastian Signor and Julia R. (Baxter) Signor, on 18 Aug. 1909 at Downsville, Delaware County, New York.
He was a laborer in an acid factory when he and Olive appeared on the census of 21 April 1910 at Hancock, Delaware County, New York. He and Olive appeared on the census of 16 April 1930 at Hamden, Delaware County, New York.
Ira died on 18 Dec. 1941 in Kings County, New York.
