Biography

John was a Friend (Quaker)

John was born May 2 1824, Marlborough MM, Randolph County, North Carolina, son of Trustrem Hinshaw and Martha Hinshaw. (Trustrem & Martha were 2nd cousins once removed.)

John married Sarah "Sally" Commons, Nov 20 1844, Randolph County, North Carolina. A marriage bond was recorded for John Hinshaw and Sarah Commons on November 20, 1844, Randolph County, North Carolina.0

Sarah, daughter of Isaac Commons and Rebecca Robins, was born Nov 27 1822, Randolph County, North Carolina. To this union were born:

  3. Martha Jane Hinshaw (1853-1947)

John Hinshaw died Oct 27 1911 (aged 87), 7:40 pm, Medical: Senility and cancer of lower lip, Hortonville, Hamilton, Indiana, and is buried in Summit Lawn Cemetery, Westfield Hamilton County, Indiana.

John's obituary was published in "The American Friend" on January 11, 1912 (page 30).
