She married William Louis Macy, 3-1-1809, Lost Creek MM, Jefferson County, Tennessee. William, son of Barachiah Macy and Lucinda Barnard, was born 10-4-1786, New Garden MM, Guilford County, North Carolina.
William's mother Lucinda Barnard was the daughter of Benjamin Barnard and Eunice Fitch. Eunice Fitch descended from John Howland of the Mayflower.
Marriage announcement of William Macy and Hannah Hinshaw:
Whereas William Macy, son of Barachiah Macy of Jefferson County and state of Tennessee, and Lucinday his wife, and Hannah Hinshaw daughter of William Hinshaw deceased of the county and the state aforeseaid and Margaret his wife, having declared their intention of taking each other in marriage before several monthly meetings of the people called Quaker, at Lost Creek in the county aforesaid, according to the good order used among them: and having consent of parents and parties concerning their said proposal was made of and allowed by the said meetings.--
Now these are to certify that who it may concern, that for the full accountability of their said intentions this first day of the third month in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine, they, the said William Macy and Hannah Hinshaw appeared in a public assembly of the aforesaid people, met together at their public meeting house at Lost Creek aforesaid, and the said William Macy taking the said Hannah Hinshaw by the hand did in very solemn manner plainly declare that he took the said Hannah L. Hinshaw to be his wife, promising through divine assistance to be with her a true and loving husband, until death should separate them: and then and there in the said assembly the said Hannah Hinshaw in like manner declared that she took the said William Macy to be her husband, promising through divine assistance to be a true and loving wife unto him, until death should separate them: or words to that effect:
Moreover they, the said William Macy and Hannah (she according to the ceremony of marriage assuming the name of her husband) as a further confirmation thereof did then and there so then and there to these presents set their hands.
And we whose names are hereunto subscribed being, amongst others present, at the solemnizing their marriage and subscription in manner aforesaid as witnessed hereunto have also to these presents subscribed our names the day and year above written.
