Obituary, Florida Times-Union, April 1, 2013 Fred Waldron Hinson, II, 69, beloved husband, son, father, grandfather, and friend to many went to be with the Lord after a courageous and valiant battle with cancer, on March 28, 2013. He fought the good fight, he finished the race, he kept the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7)
Fred was graduated from Cairo High School in 1961 and from Georgia Southern University in 1966.
He was predeceased by his father, Fred Waldron Hinson. He is survived by his Mother, Alene Hinson; his wife of 50 years, Grace; his two sons Michael Hinson, wife Harriet and Mike's daughter, Janie Hinson of St. Augustine; Russell Hinson, wife Sheila, their two sons Dillon and Bryan of Jacksonville. Also surviving are Fred's brother, John Hinson, sisters-in-law, Jane Poole, Dell Humphreys and Brenda Ponder all of Cairo, GA along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Fred established and operated a cultured marble manufacturing business and a cellulose insulation manufacturing plant, and was a building contractor. He was an exemplary father and grandfather who loved sharing his hobbies and talents with his sons and grandchildren. Fred was a life-long Presbyterian, an active member of Mandarin Presbyterian Church. One of the great joys of his life was participating in Bible Study Fellowship with his grandson, Bryan. Fred will be remembered for his quiet devotion to God and family, as well as, his love of sports of all kinds-especially golf. He loved to travel, fish, watch wildlife and tend his tree farm in Cairo, GA. His greatest hope for those he loved is for each to know his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
