Biography

Martha, born about 1845 in Henry County, Georgia, is the daughter of Lovett Hinton and Katherine Pate.

On February 7, 1864 she married Madison Timothy Awbrey. ^[1]

2. Madison Timothy, Jr. born June 20, 1868 who married Georgia Bagby Allison; both born in Clarksville, Texas
3. John Edmond born November 26, 1870 who married Susie Graham
4. Willie Bella born January 8, 1873 who died October 18, 1875
5. Aaron Bradford born December 21, 1874
6. George Lunsford born 1880 who became a dentist; died 1906

The 1880 U. S, Census states the following:^[2]

M. T. is listed as a farmer; household members are M. T. (Madison Timothy), Hartha (wife Martha), M. F. (son M. T., Jr.), John C. (John Edmond), Andy B. (Aaron Bradford), Robt. S. (?), Leinsford (George Lunsford), Sallie (a niece) and Wm. H. Edward, farm hand.

Madison applied for a pension on March 31, 1903. On the form he declares his wife is dead. (see image on Madison’s profile.) Most likely Martha was buried in Red River County, Texas where the family had lived since 1865. The Find A Grave reference states she is buried in Fairview Cemetery. There is no photo of a gravestone.
