Biography

Bryce or Aunt Devina was born in 1883. She was the daughter of David Hird.and Jessic Nicoll. She married Arthur Carr in 1904. Recall them living in the hills south of MacGregor & visiting them when a wee tyke. They had goats which I was afraid of. Recall eating watermelon there. Later they moved to MacGregor & used to go & visit them quite often. Her daughter Rosetta used to send her boy Ronald & daughter out to visit & recall "Ronnie" counting trains. Recall Aunt Devena telling me that when she got married, she used to undress in the closet which seems very strange now. She passed away in 1971. ^[1]

I recall her being in a nursing home her latter days and going to visit her. She was a very lady=like person and very welcoming whether you visited her in her home or nursing home.. Recall visiting her often when they were in MacGregor. Her husband was not as welcoming and know young Norman was a bit afraid of him. I liked him okay and realize their losing their only son must have taken a toll on both of them. '
