Biography

Jacob Hise was born 11 Feb 1779 in Wautauga, Washington, North Carolina, USA to Jacob Hise (1752-1821) and Jenny "Jincy" Seaton (1755-1846).

He had possibly seven siblings (Most taken from other trees I have not researched all sibs. Links to children that I found are provided, Gary H. White):

James Hise 1776-1853
Sarah Hise 1783-1860
Priscilla Patricia (Hise) Dotson 1788-1850
Betsey Hise 1789-1820
Jincy Jane (Hise) Seaton 1792-1872
Henry Hise 1797-1897
Lavinia (Hise) Massey 1799-1880

Marriages

Jacob married Hannah Oaby Caty (1807–1850) 8 Apr 1807 in Greene, Tennessee, USA.[1]

They had nine children (Taken from other trees I have not researched children):

Nancy Hise 1810–1820
John R Hise 1811–1888
Daughter Hise 1815–
Henry Hise 1819–1894

Greene County, Tennessee, marriage, Jacob Hise and Eve Fellers married 27 July 1819 by Felix Earnest.[2]

Children

Son Hise 1820–1825
Elizabeth Jane Hise 1821–1919
George W Hise 1822–1844
Jacob Hice 1827–1864
Felix Elijah Hise

Remarks by Gary H. White
His marriage record to Caty shows his name as Jacob Hise Jr. Which is why I show him as a Jr.
There are several Jacob Hise's born in this time period with very little in documentation, that I have found, to distinguish them. There are many researchers with the basic facts, as listed above, but rely on undocumented family trees or the One World Tree. I will not use these as, in my opinion, they are a sharing of ignorance and not verifiable. The facts that many present belong to other Jacob Hise's.
I have not added Hannah Oaby Caty (1807–1850) for similar reasons.
He probably served in the War of 1812 but there are too many to show which record, if any, are his.

Death

Jacob passed away 16 Oct 1869 in Cedar Grove, Walker, Georgia, United States.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jacob by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jacob:

Hise-17 and Hise-2 appear to represent the same person because: duplicates
This Hise-17 appears to be same as Hise-2. Jacob Sr didn't have two kids named Jacob
