Mamre Hitchcock is the daughter of Captain Lemuel Hitchcock and Mamre (Hotchkiss) Hitchcock. Her father was orignally from Cheshire, New Haven County, Connecticut and after the Revolutionary War, he pioneered in Big Hollow, in Greene County, New York. Her mother was also a native of New Haven County, Connecticut.
Mamre married Daniel Perry, (May 16, 1780 - March 21, 1858) and lived in Batavia, New York. Daniel also owned the land which is now Lansing, Michigan. [1]

Daniel Perry died March 21, 1858 and is buried in Spring Arbor Cemetery, in Jackson County, Michigan.
Mamre died January 11, 1845 and is buried with Daniel. The inscription on her gravestone indicates that she was aged 61 years and 9 months at the time of her death.
