John HITCHCOCK was born after 1765 and died between 18 October 1828, when he sold land to John BLARE on two tracts on Paint Creek in Floyd County, Kentucky
One listing over at Geni stated that a John HITCHCOCK was born about 2 January 1772 and died about 1 March 1829. This tree however also states that Temperance BLAIR was this individual's mother and that is impossible as she would have been under 2 years of age at the time of his birth. I think this is a person who was linked incorrectly and may provide clues to John HITCHCOCK's birth and death dates.
Find a Grave lists his parents as Joshua HITCHCOCK and his first wife, Amy.
BIRTH CONFLICT
It is estimated that John HITCHCOCK was married about 1797 to Temperance BLAIR. Estimate based upon birth of first known child on 12 May 1798.
Temperance BLAIR was born after 1770. She was living with her son, John HITCHCOCK in the 1860 Census Record of Johnson County, Kentucky.
Children of John HITCHCOCK and Temperance BLAIR:
Phoebe HITCHCOCK (Born: 12 May 1798; Died: about 1847 in Johnson County, Kentucky; Married: 24 December 1815 in Floyd County, Kentucky to Samuel RICE
Margaret HITCHCOCK (Born: 25 July 1800 in Floyd County, Kentucky; Died: about 1850 in Madison, Arkansas; Married: 15 September 1816 in Floyd County, Kentucky to John RAMEY, Jr.
John HITCHCOCK (Born: 8 September 1803 in Virginia; Died: about 1860 in Johnson County, Kentucky; Married: Mahala FITZPATRICK
Parker HITCHCOCK (Born: 1 September 1805 in Whitley, Kentucky; Died: 1831; Married: Elizabeth (unknown maiden name)) - This individual was listed on his father's will.
At least one tree lists a daughter named Temperance HITCHCOCK. There was a reference to one on the Geni site as follows, but I think it more likely this was a grandchild and not a daughter. Temperance HITCHCOCK (Born: 18 September 1823 in Floyd County, Kentucky; Died: 9 October 1853 in Barnetts Creek, Johnson County, Kentucky) - not listed on ancestry family trees as a daughter. More research is needed. This could be a mistake in parentage. She could have been a grandchild of John HITCHCOCK and Temperance BLAIR. A fellow researcher stated that there was a Temperance HITCHCOCK in almost if not all generations in this family.
She survived her first husband John HITCHCOCK and married for a second time on 8 March 1832 in Floyd County, Kentucky to Henry CONNELLY.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:
Hitchcock-1704 and Hitchcock-514 appear to represent the same person because: Find a Grave lists this as same individual. Wife is same, but one has her with unknown maiden name. Date of Birth is unconfirmed. Date of Death is in 1829 due to will.
