Biography

Elizabeth was born in Ibstone Buckinghamshire on 3 January 1874. We are unable to locate census information for the period prior to her marriage.

Elizabeth married Herbert Slingo in 1898 and they would become the parents of 4 children.

Research Note

We uncovered a bit of a mystery relative to Elizabeth's move to Canada. We find record of her on 2 different passenger lists (together with children) from the UK to Canada - first one in 1906, when the family moved to London, Ontario. But then we find Elizabeth on another ship, the Missanabie, from Liverpool to Quebec City, in 1914. In fact, she appears to be on the maiden voyage of that ship, which was subsequently torpedoed in the late stages of Word War 1. We aren't sure, but we wonder if she returned to the UK temporarily following the death of her infant son, Allan. She appears to re-unite with her husband in Toledo in late 1914 and sometime prior to her death in 1928, the family moved to Colorado.
