Thomas was born in 1855, son of Robert & Lydia Elizabeth (nee Smith). ^[1] He was baptised on 15 July 1855 in Wheatley, Oxfordshire, England.^[2]

In the 1861 census Thomas (age 5) was living with his widowed father Robert, grandmother Harriet and brother in Norwich Heigham, Norfolk, England. His father was Chief Constable of the City of Norwich Police Force. ^[3]

In the 1871 census Thomas (age 15) was a drapers assistant living as part of a large household in St Stephens St, Norwich, Norfolk, England.^[4]

In the 1891 census Thomas (age 36) was in Sutton, Surrey, England. He was living with his wife Kate (born in New South Wales, Australia) and their 3 children (the children are also recorded as born in New South Wales). ^[5]

He died in New South Wales in 1947.
