Biography

Mary Hix was born on 24 Aug 1755 at Rhode Island.[1]

She married Daniel Pierce, on 31 Oct. 1773 at Rehoboth, Bristol, Massachusetts. The service was by Elder Nathan Pearse. Their intentions were filed on 12 Aug. 1773.[2][3][4] Mary is the 5th great grandmother to [[Hanson-1698|]Joan Hanson Landreth]. Mary and Daniel had 11 children in 21years. She lived to the age of 95. She was married at age 16 (?).

She appeared on the census of 28 Aug 1850 in the home of her son at Delavan, Walworth County, Wisconsin. The household was recorded thus:

  • Truman Pierce 54 b. VT farmer.
  • Lucy R Pierce 55 b. VT
  • Truman Pierce 18 b. NY farmer.
  • Lenora Pierce 15 b. NY.
  • Clarissa Masher 13 b. NY.
  • Mary Pierce 94 b. RI.[5]

Mary died in 1852 at Delavan, Walworth County, Wisconsin and was buried at East Delavan Union Cemetery, Delavan, Walworth County, Wisconsin, USA. Her memorial has a photo of her headstone and links to those of family members.[1]
