Notes

Note NI6576"In 1819, Rachel Kitchen died and was buried on Kitchen property in what later became known as Zion Hill Cemetery: ...The Zion Hill Cemetery is in the south west corner of this lot ...(Lot 29, Con.1) and burials are known here as early as 1817 although the oldest stone still standing is that of Rachel, (wife of Henry Kitchen) who died Mar. 20, 1819, aged 63 years and 9 days. This probably started as a Kitchen family cemetery because it was not purchased as a burial ground until Feb. 4, 1861. One portion known as Kitchen's Row is reserved for the Kitchen Family...', (Ancaster's Heritage, p. 228)." The Kitchen Family, D. Anger, 1993
