Note: Soon after Feb. 1836, John moved his family to New Garden Monthly Meeting, Wayne Co. Indiana. By 1853 he was apparently living in Boone Co., IN as two of his daughters were married in this county which is where he also died. This conflicts with another source that has John dying in Wayne Co., IN in 1875 (Beverly Shackelford)
Note 2: Given that the last record we have for him is in Iowa in 1870 (and his widow was still living in Iowa in 1880), I'm not convinced that he died in Indiana. His death place is currently listed as "New Garden Twp, Wayne, Ohio", which isn't even a real place. I'm changing it to Iowa, but marking it uncertain. If there are other sources relating to his death, please list them below. This page on Geni gives yet another report on his death. I am going to take the date of his death from Geni, because it looks like the current death date was just copied over from his birthday. -Austin Woodruff
