Susan was born in 1853. She was the daughter of George Hoad and Mary Ann Unsted. [1]
In 1869, the whole family traveled to England for about 18 months returning on the "True Briton" to Australia through Melbourne on the 19th of September 1872.
She married Richard McCallum in 1877. [2]
She passed away in 1888. [3]
SAD DEATHS.-TWO very sad deaths have recently occurred here; by which two families of little children have been left motherless. The deceased in each instance was a young married woman, and they fell disease in each case was pneumonia Mrs. McCallum, 35, after a premature confinement, died on Wednesday. Her husband, Mr. R. McCallum, who had been on a trip to England for the good of his health, only returned to Tumut in time to be with his wife in her last moments.[4]
