Philip was a Friend (Quaker)

Philip was born on 6d 12m 1764 [6 Dec 1764].^[1] He was the son of John Hoag Jr and Mersey (Tripp) Hoag.^[1][2]

He married Phebe Woolley, the daughter of Jehu and Phebe Woolley, on 23d 10m 1788 [23 Oct 1788].^[2] The following excerpt is from the records of the Nine Partners monthly meeting:^[2]

Nine Partners Twenty Third day of the Tenth month in the year One Thousand seven Hundred Eighty and Eight [1788].

The Poughkeepsie monthly meeting granted the family a certificate to the Creek monthly meeting on 19d 5m 1802 [19 May 1802].^[3] The family did not stay there long, as they were received on certificate at the Nine Partners monthly meeting from the Stanford (Creek) monthly meeting on 18d 9m 1806 [18 Sep 1806].^[4] The family included Philip and Phebe, along with their children Peter, Abel, Mercy, John, Jehu, and Phebe.^[4]

Philip died 24d 11m 1844 [24 Nov 1844], age 79y 11m 18d, in Washington, Dutchess, New York.^[5]
