Biography

Edmund, baptized at Hingham, England, on 16 January 1602/3.[1] He resided at Windham, County of Norfolk, England, at the time of his departure for America. He arrived at Charlestown, with other members of his father's family in 1633. In 1635 he removed to Hingham, and Sept. 15 of that yr. drew a house-lot on Town St. Other lots for planting purposes were granted him at subsequent dates. The christian name of his wife whom he married in England was Elizabeth. She died in Hingham 4 Nov. 1675. He died 16 Feb. 1685-86, set. 82d yr. Will made 25 June, 1684 ; proved 23 March, 1685-86. " Weaver." Constable 1672 ; selectman 1661, 1671, and 1684. Resided on North St., near Hobart's Bridge. [2][3]

He married in Hingham, Norfolk, England 18 Oct 1632 Elizabeth Elmer.[2]

He died on the 16th of February 1686. In the church records his nephew, the Reverend, wrote "my uncle Edmond Hobart deceased Tuesday, being 82 years old - buried 17th."[4]
