Biography

Hochstetler Lineage: Jacob, Jacob, John, Jacob.

97, Jacob Hochstetler, 4th generation in family of Jacob Hochstetler, 3, Meyersdale, Pa., at death, was b. near there in 1778,' d. in 1837, and m. Oct. 16, 1798, at Berlin, Pa., by Adam Miller, J. P., Mary Schultz. He was blind the latter part of his life and d. of dropsy. Benjamin J. Joder, of fam. 2864, was taken to his funeral and says the door of the house had to be enlarged to make room for the body to pass out. Children: John, 98; Samuel, 157; Adam, 267; Catherine, 761; Susannah, 347; Elizabeth, 430; Barbara, 466; Jacob, 493; Mary, 546; Margaret, 588.[1]

Added 21 Nov 2017 by Francis E. Berkey (Berkey-120) For some reason all the details from DJH are present but Jacob's wife was never entered. Also it should be noted that their daughter, Elizabeth (whose husband was my route here), was entered as last name Hostetler. I added additional last name Hochstetler as a matter of clean up. FEB It seems the profile resembles Swiss Cheese as on this page the wife is here. I'll see what I can accomplish. FEB
