Jacob Hochstetler was born about 1752 and is the son of John Hochstetler and Catherine Hertzler. He died in 1813. There is no record of any will, nor did his estate pass through court. May 17, 1813, he sold two farms to his son John and it is likely that he did not live long after. He appears on the tax list of Brothers Valley Township in what is now Somerset County, Pennsylvania, in 1779. He married Barbara Miller, daughter of John Miller.of fam. 9146. They had the following children: John; Jacob; Peter; Catherine [1]
