Biography

Jackie Wilton Hockett, the son of Ira Hockett and Hilda Koenemann, was born on 23 February 1943 in Sulphur Springs, Hopkins County, Texas. ^[1]

His siblings were:

Jackie married Linda Kay Hatten, the daughter of G. W. Hatton and Kathryn Alverta Johnson, on 19 August 1966 in Hopkins County, Texas. Jackie was 23 years old, and Linda was 16. ^[2]

Jackie and Linda had one child, a daughter. ^{[3]
(Jackie's obituary (see below) mentioned a surviving son that was not named, as well as his daughter who was named along with her husband. Jackie and Linda's divorce record said they only had one child. If there actually was a son, he was probably the son of a yet unknown mother.)}

The marriage ended in divorce on 27 May 1969 in Tarrant County, Texas. ^[4]

Jackie died on 20 March 2010, at Sulphur Springs Nursing and Rehab in Sulphur Springs. ^[5]

He was buried in Sulphur Springs City Cemetery in Sulphur Springs. ^[6]

Jackie W. Hockett, age 67, of Sulphur Springs, TX passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Sulphur Springs Nursing and Rehab. He was born on February 23, 1943 to Ira Wilton and Hilda Ann Koenamann Hockett in Sulphur Springs, TX. His parents preceded him in death. After graduating from High School, he went into the U.S. Airforce. After leaving the military, Jackie worked for over 20 years as an assemblyman for Cannon Craft Industries. He is survived by a son; daughter Angela Pineda and husband Milton of Mt. Vernon, TX; two grandchildren, Crystal and Pablo Soto. In addition to his parents, Jackie is also preceded in death by his brothers Charles and Marvin Hockett. Visitation will take place on Sunday, March 21, 2010 from 5 - 7 p.m. A Military Graveside Service will be held on Monday, March 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in City Cemetery. West Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
