She was a daughter of James Hockett [3][4] (About 1840-Before 1886) and Armintha (Araminta) Ann McCann [3][4] (About 1838-After 1886).
Emma married John Hellinger (1862-1911) August 5, 1884 [4][8] at Grantfork, Madison County, Illinois. [4] [John's obituary said they were married in Pocahontas, Bond County, Illinois. [8]] She was a resident of Leef Township, Madison County, Illinois at time of her marriage.
The marriage was performed by Henry Becker, DD, Rector and witnessed by Christian Hellinger and Mary Stempke.
John and Emma had the following children:
She appeared on the census on May 1, 1865 in Leavenworth County, Kansas [1] as Emma Hockett, in Jas Hockett household; age 1; female; born IL; single.
She appeared on the census on June 20, 1870 in Leavenworth, Leavenworth County, Kansas [2] as age 6, b. IL.
She appeared on the census on June 3, 1880 in Hanson County, Dakota Territory [3] as age 16, daughter, at home, b. IL, parents b. IL.
Emma died at the age of 27 on July 28, 1891 [5][6][7], in Bond County, Illinois [7].
She was buried in Robinson Cemetery in Pocahontas, Bond County, Illinois [5][6]
Emma was mentioned as the deceased wife of John Hellinger in an obituary on November 29, 1911. [8]
