The now-dead tree at http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=rchockman1&id=I00266 stated the following: "Catherine Hockman was born on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River. Catherine Hockman was deceased several years before her father's will was probated in 1814 and in November 1814 Francis Reese was appointed guardian to his children under age 14. Catherine and Anna, being over 14, chose their father as guardian, since they were all underage heirs of their mother's share of Peter Hockman's estate.
