Thomas Maxwell Hockridge was born on 19th October 1908 at Wallaroo, South Australia, Australia. He was the son of Thomas Richard Stitson Hockridge and Sarah Bowering. ^[1] His birth was announced in "The Advertiser" on Wednesday 18th November 1908.

• "Hockridge. On the 19th October, at "Burnessie," Hall-street, Wallaroo, to Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Hockridge, a son (Thomas Maxwell)." ^[2]

Thomas Maxwell Hockridge married Olive Mary Melbourne on 15th September 1934 at the Pirie Street Methodist Church, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. ^{[3] [4]} Their marriage was announced in "Chronicle" on Thursday 13th September 1934.
