Martha Gray Janeway married 1858 Charles Hodge 2nd MD, son of Charles and Sarah (Bache) Hodge of Princeton, New Jersey. Mrs. Sarah Bache Hodge was the [great] grand-daughter of Benjamin Franklin; her [grand] mother, Sarah Franklin Bache, was one of the leaders in what might now be called a "guild" to provide clothing for the Continental Army, and was personally thanked by General Washington in a letter which is still in the possession of her descendants.
