Biography
Emily Gertrude 1849 Islington. Emily Gertrude, eldest daughter of Sydney B Hodge Esq, 34 Highbury grove, married Joseph Theodore Ingoldsby, of Canonbury Square, eldest son of Frederick Ingoldby Esq FBCS, Finsbury Square, on 29 April 1874 at the Highbury Wesleyan Chapel in Islington, and had two daughters: Emily Mabel 1875 and Amelia Gertrude 1878. Joseph was a surgeon of 135 Highbury New Park in 1888. Joseph of 11 Finsbury Square and 95 Highbury Quadrant, died 4 Sept 1896. [Islington Gazette, 18 Dec 1896] In 1901 Emily 52 was a widow living on her own means at Highbury with Emily M 26, Amelia G 23, Fredrk T 19, merchant’s clerk, niece Hilda M Cooke 24, sister Amelia A Hodge 50 and a visitor. Emily Gertrude of Highbury died 27 Jan 1930 leaving probate to Edwin Herbert Jones civil servant.
