Clarence was born in 1889. He passed away in 1979. OBITUARY Springfield (Pa) Press, Thursday, August 16, 1979 "CLARENCE HODGES "Kovacs Funeral directed funeral arrangements for Dr. Clarence A. Hodges, of 422 West Leamy Ave. He died August 9 in Riddle Memorial Hospital. He was 89 years old. "Born in Covina, California, Dr. Hodges was a retired Professor of Physics at Temple University. He received his PHD degree in 1928 from the California Institute of Technology. He served in the U.S. Army during World War Two and was a member of the Masonic Lodge at the University of Texas. "Surviving are his daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Coste, of Springfield, Mrs. Helen Purnell, of Rockville, Connecticut and Mrs. Amy Ruth Boxwell, of Arnold, Maryland. Sixteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive. "Interment was in Grove Hill Cemetery, Rockville, Conn"
