Research Notes
Grainger Wills They are in abc order, so Hodges is almost halfway down the page. It shows Eli Hodges Jr.'s will. Emalue or Pressa is his wife. Same person. On his will it has: Attested: and one of the names is Francis Y. Williams Jr. Francis Williams (Catherine's husband) had the middle initial supposedly of "Y".
There is a guardianship entry for Jonathan S. Noe, guardian of Louisa C. Hodges, minor heir of Eli Hodges, dceased, 1857 filing. Said Louisa was "of age" in 1857 (so final settlement paid). This must be a daughter of Eli Jr as Eli Sr didn't have a minor named Louisa in his probate.
Is this the Eli that was a Justice of the Peace in 1835 in Grainger County? Or was it his father?
