Biography

William was born in 1863, the son of John W. Hodgins and Mary Jane Richardson.

He was born on February 2, 1863, in Canada West, years before Birth Registration began in 1869. His date of birth is taken from the 1901 Census.

William married Elizabeth Brown in 1888. Their marriage record reads:

William Henry Hodgins, 25, residing in Admaston, born in Bromley, bachelor, farmer, son of John Hodgins & Mary Jane Richardson, married,

Eliza Brown, 25, residing and born in Admaston, spinster, daughter of James Brown and Jane Keyes,

Witnesses: Walter Hodgins, Ross Twp; Margaret Jane Brown, Admaston

On June 12th, 1888, in Admaston Township, Renfrew County.

Together they had the following children:

1. Bernadotte Wellington, born in 1890^[1], married Pearl Louise Edmunds^[2]
2. Walter James Lester, married Annie Marsella Bowes
3. Lila Jane, born in 1898^[3], died in 1918^[4]

William died on July 21, 1944, at Renfrew Victoria Hospital, in Renfrew, Ontario. His death record notes he was born on February 2, 1863, in Ontario, the son of John Hodgins, born Ireland, and Mary Jane Ritcheson. The informant on his record was his son, B.W. Hoddgins, of Renfrew, Ontario.

He was buried at Admaston Cemetery, in Renfrew, Ontario.

William was born in 1863. He was the son of John Hodgins and Mary Richardson. He passed away in 1944.
