James married Hannah Wallis on 7 January 1762 in Osmaston by Ashbourne, Derbyshire, England.[2][3]
James Hodgkinson, farmer of Petthills, Kniveton, Derbyshire, but formerly of Osmaston, Derbyshire, and still owning property there, made his will on 7 February 1803 naming his wife Hannah and his children James, Elizabeth, Mary, John, William, Sarah and Joseph. The will was proved at Lichfield on 7 August 1804 by his executors, his sons James and William.[4]
James Hodgkinson, farmer of Kniveton aged 78, was buried at Osmaston, Derbyshire, on 26 July 1804.[5]
