Audrey was the daughter of Eric Vivian Hodgkinson and Mabel Rose (Cottle) Hodgkinson.
She married Ronald Viney, an orchard instructor, in 1948. Ron had been married previously, and had two sons (Robert and Keith) from that marriage. Audrey took on the care of Ron's sons, both of whom passed away at a realtively young age.
The Vineys lived initially in Hastings, then moved to Kumeu, Gisborne and Opotiki with Ron's work. They separate due to Colleen's concern about incompatibilites of faith (she was Catholic; he was not - and previously divorced), but reconciled and moved to Opotiki.
Colleen and Ron had one son, David Stanley, who it appears bcame known as Doug Viney, a man who had considerable success as a heavyweight and kickboxer.
Audrey passed away in Paraparaumu in 2004, and was buried in Taita Old Cemetery, Naenae, Lower Hutt, Wellington, NZ.
