Biography

James Easton Hodgson was born Whitehaven, Cumberland, England, 1883. ^[1][2]

He was the son of John Hodgson^[3] & Elizabeth Graham^[2].

Aged 7 in 1891 he resided Cleator (5 miles southeast of Whitehaven) with his parents and four siblings. ^[3]

Aged 27 in 1911 he was a tram conductor in Warwickshire, boarding in the family home of Benjamin Matthews, fellow tram worker. ^[4]

He married Maud Wilson, West Bromwich, Staffordshire, 1911. ^[5]

Aged 32 in 1917 he served in the Army Service Corps, residing Birmingham. ^[6]

Aged 35 in 1919 he served in the Royal Army Service Corps, residing Birmingham. ^[7]

He emigrated from England to New Zealand.

James died aged 66, New Zealand 1950. ^[8]

He was buried Old Levin Cemetery, Levin, Horowhenua District, Manawatu-Wanganui, New Zealand. ^[9]
