Ellen was born Mar 12, 1853[1] in Virginia,[2] almost certainly in Barbour County. She was the second daughter and third child (out of ten) of Sanford Hoffman and Elizabeth Fry.
Ellen married John G. Miller on March 27, 1876 in Barbour County, West Virginia.[3] Ellen and John had four children before her untimely death in 1892:[4]

Dottie Miller (1888-1937)
Dayton G. Miller (1890-1938)
Ellen passed away on May 3, 1892[1] almost certainly in Barbour County, Virginia. She is buried in Miller Cemetery located in Barbour County, West Virginia.[1]

Death Record - there is an unsourced statement on Ellen's Find a Grave page stating "Ellen was killed in a buggy accident caused from a bee sting. Several of her children were injured." As of this writing, no official death records or known obituaries have been found to support this statement.
