Biography

Born 21 JUL 1922. Archer County, Texas, United States. [1] [2]

Died 28 DEC 2005. Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, United States.

Obit 5 JAN 2006. Note: Gone but not forgotten. She will be remembered forever through all generations. Elizabeth Ann (Loretta) Lindeman, cherished wife, beloved mother, loving grandmother, and the sweetest great-grandmother, died December 9, 2005, at Rolling Meadows in Wichita Falls, Texas, at the age of 83. A vigil service and rosary was held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2005 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Windthorst. Mass was celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2005 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Jeff Poirot, Associate Pastor of Immaculate Conception in Denton, Texas and Rev. David Kraeger, Pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, officiating. Interment followed at St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City. Loretta was born July 21, 1922 in Scotland, Texas. She was one of 11 children born to Frank and Elizabeth Hoffman. She married A. R. Lindeman of Windthorst, Texas, on February 2, 1942. With the exception of a few years in California during World War II while Al worked in an airplane manufacturing plant, Loretta was a resident of Windthorst where she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers Society since 1947, and a Eucharistic Minister until her deteriorating health forced her to give up ministering to others with health challenges. She also participated in many community activities and events including six and a half years maintaining the flowers and shrubbery surrounding the Grotto shrine to The Blessed Mother. Loretta was well-known for her flowers. She was constantly planting, weeding, watering and mowing her large and beautiful flower beds, garden, and lawn. She would rather work outside with a hoe in hand, than eat ice cream! She told her children, shortly before her death, that she was looking forward to working in God's garden. We are sure she is setting Him straight on just how to keep those flowers looking good! Loretta was the most precious flower in her family's garden. Loretta will also be fondly remembered by family and friends as Mrs. Santa Claus. Christmas was her favorite time of year and she decorated her house from top to bottom; both inside and out. Many a car would slowly drive the miles out to the family farm to view all the illuminated decorations. She would host a tour for the local schoolchildren providing them with milk and homemade Christmas cookies. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will always remember Christmas as a special time of the year spent at the farm with lots of love and family cheer. Loretta is survivedby her husband of almost 64 years, Alvis (A. R.) Lindeman of Windthorst, Texas; five daughters: Nancy Pennartz and husband Edward of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Carol Simons and husband Kenneth of Plano, Texas; Linda Melton and husband Bart of Laurel, Maryland; Joyce Capron and husband Joe of Wichita Falls, Texas; and Loyce Huffman and husband George of Archer City, Texas. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Mike Pennartz of Dayton, Texas; Chris Pennartz and Susan Rasberry of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Tammie James of Allen, Texas; Kevin Simons of Cupertino, California; Laura Wood of Falls Church, Virginia; Scott McNeely and Elizabeth McNeely of Wichita Falls, Texas; Renee Huffman of Allen, Texas; and Robin Huffman and Mindy Huffman of Archer City, Texas. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren: Lana and Eliza Pennartz of Dayton, Texas; Brandon Pennartz, Katelyn and Megan Rasberry of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Preston and Parker James of Allen, Texas; and Emma McNeely of Wichita Falls, Texas. Loretta also leaves behind her sister, Margie Berend of Windthorst, Texas; and her brothers, Bill Hoffman of Windthorst, Texas, Bernard Hoffman of Wichita Falls, Texas; and Jim Hoffman of Scotland, Texas. Her family was Loretta's most precious possession. Her home was her workplace; and her family will tell you, "Job well done". The family will be wearing token colors of red, Loretta's favorite color, to celebrate her life, while we mourn her passing from our lives. Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons, Mike Pennartz, Chris Pennartz, Kevin Simons, Scott McNeely, Joe James, and Tommy Rasberry.

Buried Windthorst, Archer County, Texas, United States.
