Anna Elisabetha Hofmann was born in the middle of the night, between midnight and 1 AM on 11 Feb 1799 in Leutersdorf, Saxe-Meiningen, the only daughter of Johann Friedrich Hofmann, a linenweaver, and his wife Margaretha Elisabetha Eisemann.[1][2] She was named after her godmother, her mother's sister Anna Elisabetha.[1]
Peter died on 15 Dec 1869 at the age of 73 years, leaving Anna Elisabetha behind as a widow.[3]
She died several years later, on 24 Sep 1872, from the effects of old age.[4] She was 73 years, 8 months, and 13 days old.[4] She was buried three days later on 27 Sep 1872.[4]
