- Fact: http://familysearch.org/v1/LifeSketch Catherine Hoffman Hutain married first time at age 24 to Frank Brown (Braun). They had a son, Frank, Jr. who became the older brother of Pierre Hutain. Second marriage was to Jean-Baptiste Hutain. Catherine Hoffman Brown met Jean Baptiste Hutain and they were married January 1872 in Bordeaux, France. Jean Baptiste was in the French Foreign Legion and worked with horses in Africa. Catherine Hoffman Brown Hutain moved to Troy, New York from France in 1890 with her son Pierre Hutain. Her husband Jean Baptiste was still in Africa.
