Biography

James Hogan, son of William and Rachel (Boltinghouse) Hogan, was born in 1828 in Indiana. He was a farmer when he appeared on the census of 21 Sep. 1850 in the home of his mother and step-father at Peoria County, Illinois.[1]

He married Sarah Elizabeth Gardner, daughter of Ebenezer and Mary Ann (Wilkinson) Gardner,[2] on 24 Oct. 1850 at Rock Island County, Illinois.[3]

He was a farmer when he and Sarah appeared on the census of 6 June 1860 at Richwoods, Peoria County, Illinois.[4] He was a farmer when he and Sarah appeared on the census of 29 July 1870 at Bowling, Rock Island County, Illinois.[5] He was a farmer when he and Sarah appeared on the census of 11 June 1880 at Andalusia, Rock Island County, Illinois.[6]
