Pearl was a very frugal, straight-forward, no nonsense woman. She was married before to a George Draeger, for a very short time. I have not found a marriage certificate in my research. She then married Henry Knepprath, and helped him raise his three young children. They lived in West Bend, WI most of their life and moved to Tecumseh, Kansas for a few years to be near her brother, David. Henry died in Tecumseh and afterwards she moved back to Wisconsin. Henry and Pearl had a large farm in Wisconsin where they had a milking operation and Henry also had a sawmill.
Pearl loved to garden. I remember visiting them in Wisconsin in 1973 and she had rhubarb growing in her garden. She had a yellow rose bush by the back door that seemed to hold a special place in her heart. Pearl also liked to make rye bread and it was delicious. In her later years, she didn't have much time for little boys; always thought that they were getting into trouble. Little girls were always sweet and did nothing wrong in her eyes.
