Bio
When Joseph Hogg was born on February 5, 1841, in Barrington, Nova Scotia, his father, Leander, was 31 and his mother, Zilpha, was 34. He was ordained a Presbyterian minister in 1868. He married Mary Cogswell Webster in September 1871 in Kentville, Nova Scotia. They had seven children in 20 years, two of which died of diphtheria in 1880. He died on December 16, 1906, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 65.
