James was eighteen years old when his mother died on May 1927 in Tacoma, Pierce, Washington.
On 19 Dec 1931, James was married to Hazel Ewgene Schell in Pierce county, Washington[3].
He died on March 20, 1950[1], in Los Angeles, California[1], at the age of 41, and was buried in Glendale, Los Angeles County, California in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The plot is located at Eventide, Map 1, Lot 3732, Space 4[4].
