Friedrich V., Burgrave von Nürnberg, and Prince of the Holy Roman Empire was born around 1332. He was the son of Johann II. von Nürnberg and Elisabeth von Henneberg-Schleusingen. He died on January 21, 1398.

On September 7, 1350 Friedrich married Elisabeth von Meissen, daughter of Friedrich II., Margrave of Meissen and Thuringia, and Mechthild von Bayern in Jena, Thuringia. They had 8 children:
