Hi David. About a week ago I sent a trusted list request for Hannah Ruck-32's profile. She is a direct ancestor of my family, and I'd like to be on her trusted list so that I can be informed of updates to her profile. Would you please add me to her TL or add me as a PM since you don't appear very active on WIkiTree any longer?

Thank you. S

Hi Dave:

I wonder why We can't get Briggs-1971 & Briggs-8993 merged ??

Yes Daniel Hudson was slain in the Indian massacre not all of his children and grand children were present at the raid but Lancaster lost alot of people.

And one last question: do you have a source for Biscoe's parents? If so, please advise, as he has none in Anderson's Great Migration Directory, Edward is named (without sources) in a few old bio/genealogies. Apparently Anderson could not find a reliable source for parents, so following PGM guidelines, we should probably remove any parents, but perhaps make a mention, with a link to the parent's profiles, in the biography.

Bobbie,

Sorry for the late reply. I support your suggestion regarding the Biscoe parents. Regards, Dave Holbrook

Hi David, Thanks for completing the merge on Nathaniel Biscoe, and removing the unsupported middle name. You'd asked about changing back to the Briscoe spelling because of the wording in the Historic Homes article. I read it to mean that the uncle usually spelled his name that way. So that's probably why our English teachers cracked our knuckles for being unclear with our pronouns :) I would say keep Biscoe unless we can find a contemporary document that shows him signing his name, or a probate document, etc. The only other argument I have is that Anderson's Great Migration Directory uses the spelling of "Biscoe". Your thoughts?

At least one Ancestry tree has the following (not that ancestry trees mean much). Note the overlapping marriage dates:

Father John Upton (1683-1743)

Mother Tabitha Weldon (1691-1753)

Spouse#1 Obadiah McIntire (1708-1796) Married 1730

Children -Sarah (1732-1759) -Obadiah (1734-1800) -Elizabeth (1736-1779) -Mehitabel (1739-1771) -Deborah (1743-1813) -Jesse (1743-1826) -Dorcas (1747-1779) -Miriam (1749-1809) -Ephriam (1751-1832)

Spouse#2 Melatiah Vinton (1711-1734) Married 1732

Spouse#3 Jonathan Bingham (1712-1800) Married 1736

Children -Mary (1736-1814) -Malatiah (1738-1814) -Elijah (1740-1821) -Phoebe (1742-1826) -Naomi (1744-1820)

Were families polygamous then? I didn't think so, but I know that some of their descendants went to Utah with the Mormons.

Thanks for your proposed merge of Sarah Uptons. It's not instantly clear to me these are the same person, so I'm double checking other sources I can find.

Have you seen the paragraphs in "Descendants of Phillip McIntire", where Lt. Obadiah McIntire is #14 (pg. 22). It's almost entirely about him, but his wife Sarah Upton is mentioned a couple of times at least. I appreciate this doesn't contradict your info that she married three times... More when I've checked further.

I commend you on your family tree efforts. You document; and you keep pushing. My focus has been on the 1800-2017 time period, but you have gone to earlier centuries. Congrats.

Hello David....once again as I am researching my paternal line, whether it be Forsyth or Riggs, I stumble across a cousin on my maternal line! You are the 6th one tonight! 9th cousins, twice removed through John Greene....you are the second cousin I have came across from that direct line within the last hour! Incredible!  :)
Kathy,

Sorry it took long for me to respond. Somehow I missed your message. It is incredible. My mother's family has an interesting 'twist'. I am a blood relative of 11 Mayflower passengers through her. The way that seemed to work is that the Puritanical church pastor had to approve all marriages. Typically the Pastor would not approve a marriage for any non-church members. So for 100's of years the Massachusetts Puritans intermarried. Therefore, if you have one ancestor who was on the Mayflower, it is likely you have more than one because of the church's insistence that Puritans not marry outside of their church.

Nice to meet you cousin. Regards, David Holbrook

David, thank you for touching up two of my very damaged photos. The results were excellent. You deserve the Generous Genealogist Star. I can't thank you enough.

Hi. I love your image of McDonough Hall. I would love to include it in an article about a concert there in 1862. Is there any way you could help me get a high resolution copy?

Thanks...
