Biography

1776 Project
Captain Nathaniel Holden served with 11th Massachusetts Bay Provincial Regiment (1775), Continental Army during the American Revolution.

Nathaniel Holden was born on May 7, 1730 in Woburn Massachusetts. His parents were Jonathan Holden and Joanna Wyman. [1] [2]

He married Mary Richardson.

Together they had these children born in Dunstable: [3]

  1. John Holden, b. April 14, 1764.
  2. Abigail Holden, b. Oct. 18, 1765.
  3. Mary Holden, b. May 21, 1767.
  4. Nathaniel Holden, b. Jan. 25, 1769.
  5. Amme (Amy?Anna?) Holden, b. March 3, 1771.
  6. Anne/Anna Holden, b. Sept. 17, 1774.
  7. Jonathan Holden, b. March 27, 1778.
  8. Silas Holden, b. Dec. 14, 1783.

Nathaniel was a Lieutenant in Capt. Leonard Butterfield's company, Col. Ebenezer Bridge's 11th Massachusetts Bay Provincial Regiment, which marched on the alarm of April 19, 1775, and later in Capt. Ebenezer Bancroft's company, same regiment. [4] [5] [6]

He died on January 21, 1817 in Tyringham, Massachusetts. [7]
