George A. Hollabaugh was born about 1814 in Rowan County, North Carolina. His family lived in Wayne and Perry Counties in Tennessee before finally settling in Searcy County, Arkansas around 1841. This area is still home to many of his descendants.
George married Martha DePriest about 1835 in Perry County, Tennessee and they had six children: Mary Catherine, John Archibald, Emmanuel Fountain, Hettiealine Jane, Thomas W., and Rosannah.[1]
He died in 1857 and is buried at Watts Cemetery in Searcy County, Arkansas.[2]
Notes
The family is of German lineage and the spelling of this name has been butchered in many different ways. Hollenbeck/Hollenbach descendants can appear as Hollabaugh/Hollibough/Holobaugh/Holibo/Halobaugh and other creative variations on that theme.
